State of Charge's Tom sits down with Ghost at the 2026 EV Charging Summit in Las Vegas to examine a flat EV charging cable that is 5.56mm thin, 7cm wide, and rated for 50 amps. The pitch: if you park on the street and charge from your house, you no longer need a round cable crossing the sidewalk that trips your neighbors, blocks delivery carts, or catches under the garage door. Five US cities including Portland, Seattle, and Oakland have already approved the concept. Ghost is targeting the US market with a bring-your-own-cable Mennekes setup, shipping expected within 60 days of filming. A built-in cut sensor shuts everything down if the cable is damaged. Useful product for a problem a lot of people quietly have.
