Branden Flasch visits one of the first Tesla V4 cabinet supercharger sites in the world, also the first using the new Folding Unit design, in Columbia, South Carolina. The FU name is not a joke: the eight-post array is a single metal frame that folds flat for shipping, gets craned onto a pad, and is ready to charge once the AC feed is connected. The cabinet is rated at 997 kVA with 960 kW DC output, and each post handles 615 amps continuous. Flasch charges his F-150 Lightning via a CCS adapter and sees 178 kW at 35% state of charge, then walks the full site from the transformer to the cooling system on each post and the ADA loop handle design.
