True_Dad drove his R1S to the Venice Rivian Space to check out the R2 with his family, rolling over 20,000 miles on the way there. Five R2s were on display in different colors with various wheel and tire packages, which made for a useful real-world look at how the palette and options actually come across in person.

The frunk is nearly as large as the R1S's. Back seat legroom has more room than the R1T but the seating position is lower, which means knees sit higher. Kids fit comfortably. Cargo space compares well to a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4. The R2 has slats along the lower body to prevent mud from splashing up the sides, a detail the host noticed his own R1S lacks. He appreciated the cloth lip on the interior but wished Rivian offered something other than wood inlay for trim.

The Venice Rivian Space itself gets a shoutout as a nicely restored building with polished displays and a relaxed vibe. Displays around the space included an R1T and an R1S, though the R1S was for display only.
