Enhauto has released update 6.4 for its Commander dongle and S3XY product line, and it brings several features that Tesla's own software still doesn't offer natively.
The headline for Performance Model Y Juniper owners is Track Mode access through the S3XY Buttons and Knob. Tesla's native menus don't expose it on this vehicle, but Enhauto has built the controls in and made all track settings adjustable via their S3XY app. Adaptive Damping controls have also been added for Highland and Juniper models, letting owners switch between comfort, sport, and track suspension settings through the S3XY interface.
Actions on Reverse is a new automation that triggers a set of behaviors each time the car shifts into reverse. One of the most-requested options is Mute in Reverse, which kills all in-car audio for quieter parking. It's available on all Model 3 and Y vehicles produced after 2020, with the exception of the Model 3 Highland, which requires more work. The automation can also disable mirror dimming on reverse, replicating a feature Tesla now includes on newer vehicles but hadn't extended to older ones.
The S3XY Strip gets new edge controls, so turn signals and blind spot warnings appear only at the outer edges of the strip rather than lighting up the whole bar. Width is adjustable. The Knight Rider sweep animation has been added as an option for greetings, autopilot, speed warnings, or Sentry mode. Separate day and night brightness settings address a common complaint that the strip could feel too intense after dark.
Other additions include: an open door RGB warning pulse for Highland and Juniper models, a Pedestrian Chime action that uses the Juniper/Highland/S/X exterior speaker, a light theme for the S3XY Dash that reduces glare during daytime driving, and per-wheel brake temperature estimates in the S3XY app. Tesla doesn't expose brake temps anywhere in its own interface. The S3XY Knob also gains the ability to set a favourite page for autopilot driving sessions.
