Two years ago this was an empty stretch of land in Luan. Now it's 6 million solar panels across an area larger than 6,300 football pitches, producing 578 million kWh a year, enough to power 4.5 million homes. Drones patrol 12 times daily. The panels physically rotate to follow the sun. Next door, a wind turbine factory cranks out 800 units a year with blades up to 130 metres long. China now installs solar and wind capacity at the same rate as the rest of the world combined. The last number in the video, coal at 60% of Chinese electricity, is the one that sits with you afterward.
